To visit the North Fork wineries... North Fork Wine Trail proceed on the LIE to exit #71. At the end of the off-ramp, turn left and proceed north on Edwards Avenue to Sound Avenue. Turn right on Sound Avenue and continue to the Rt 48/Sound Avenue wineries, or turn right onto Rt 105, and then left on Rt 25 for the Main Road wineries. You can also turn right at the end of the Exit 71 off ramp, and proceed along Rt 24 to the junction with Rt 105. Turn left onto Rt 105, and then right on Rt 25 for the Main Road wineries, or continue along Rt 105 to Rt 48 for the Sound Ave/Rt 48 wineries.
To visit the South Fork wineries ...The Hamptons Wine Trail proceed on the LIE to exit #71. At the end of the off-ramp turn right in a south-easterly direction along Rt. 24 to Rt. 27. Proceed east on Rt. 27 into the Towns of Water Mill and Bridgehampton, following the winery signs.
Traveling from one Fork to the other, you may enjoy taking the ferry boats, which conveniently link Greenport, Shelter Island and Sag Harbor. Use Rt. 114 coming from either direction.
From New England, take either the Port Jefferson ferry from Bridgeport, Connecticut and proceed to the LIE east, then follow the directions above, or the ferry from New London to Orient Point. From Orient Point, "Wine Trail" road signs will guide you to the North Fork wineries. To get to the South Fork wineries, take the Shelter Island ferries (Rt. 114) as described above.
